The module size reaches about 31cm square (area 968cm2). Although the conversion efficiency of the 1.047cm2 solar cell developed by Sharp has reached 37.9%, 31.17% is the world's highest level for large modules.

In general, the price of a multilayer stacked compound solar cell is several ten times that of a silicon solar cell of the same area. Therefore, it is not widely used except for special applications such as satellites.
