Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer is used as a high range Water Reducing Admixture in high performance concrete, high strength concrete, high volume fly ash/slag concrete, cement grouting, and dry mortar. These polymers are used as dispersants, especially for early strength concrete, to avoid particle segregation.
The preparation method of the polycarboxylate superplasticizer by graft copolymerization of fatty acid vinyl ester onto acrylate polymer involves four steps in order of polymerization, graft copolymerization, alcoholysis and hydrolysis, which are provided in this patent.
