8. What should you watch out for when drilling high manganese steel with a hard alloy drill?
High manganese steel has high plasticity and toughness, and the cutting temperature is high. When drilling high manganese steel with hard alloy group, the following problems should be noted:
(1) Reasonable choice of cutting amount: If the cutting speed is too low or the feed rate is too large, the cutting force will increase, and the cutting edge will be easily broken. Generally, Vc = 30 ~ 40m / min, f = 0.07 ~ 0.1 mm / r.
(2) To fully use the coolant: high manganese steel has a large coefficient of linear expansion. When drilling, the coolant should be fully used. The workpiece can be immersed in the coolant to drill holes to prevent the bit from biting due to the shrinkage of the hole. Dead damage.
(3) Strictly control the standard of bit blunt: If you hear a harsh scream during the drilling process or find that the back angle and edge wear of the outer edge of the drill bit are about 1 mm, the bit should be reground in time, otherwise continue Use will accelerate the wear of the drill bit and cause damage.
(4) It is strictly forbidden to stop in the middle: When drilling high manganese steel with cemented carbide group drill, automatic feeding should be adopted, and manual feeding is not required as much as possible, otherwise the hardening phenomenon will be aggravated, making drilling more difficult. During the operation, it is strictly forbidden to stop in the middle of the road to prevent the "boring car" caused by excessive cutting force and to cause the drill bit to collapse.
In addition to the above points, when drilling high-manganese steel with cemented carbide drills, the machine tool is required to have good rigidity and low vibration. Cemented carbide has higher hardness and heat resistance than high-speed steel, but its toughness is much lower than that of high-speed steel. Strong vibration and high temperature during cutting will accelerate the wear of the drill bit, causing chipping or welding, making drilling impossible.
9. What are the examples of high manganese steel turning?
The workpiece material is 40Mn18Cr3, the tool material is YW2, and the tool geometry is shown in Figure 2. Cutting amount is Vc=
