NTN thrust ball bearing lubrication and maintenance methods used in different environments

NTN bearing lubrication is best carried out during scheduled plant shutdowns and is periodically replenished. At the same time, the old grease is removed or old grease is forced out through the drain. The grease nipple should be wiped clean before adding fresh grease. If the bearing housing of the thrust ball bearing does not have a lubrication nozzle, the bearing housing cover or end cap should be opened to remove the old grease. After cleaning, the same type of fresh oil should be added.
In order to ensure the normal operation of NTN bearings, we need to regularly check the oil level and oil quality. Under normal circumstances, the normal oil level should be within 1/3-2/3 of the equipment oil level window or marking. If the oil filling method is oil cup, the oil level shown only represents the oil filling capacity, and the bearing housing oil level is to meet the operation requirements. The oil level in the oil cup can be considered as less than 1/4 of its total volume.
1. Low-temperature and high-speed bearing greases At present, the use of thrust ball bearings is increasingly refined, and the grease used for bearings must have the following properties:
(1) It has the same service life as a bearing, maximizes maintenance intervals, reduces downtime, and increases labor productivity.
(2) In the dn> 5 × 105 high speed to ensure that the motor temperature rise is low, do not throw oil, thereby reducing power consumption, protect the motor.
(3) The impurity content is controlled under a certain standard to minimize the pollution of equipment noise to the environment.
(4) Ensure the flexibility of starting and running of the bearing under ultra-low temperature working conditions to ensure the minimum output power.
2. General low-noise motor bearing grease In the NTN bearing industry, this kind of grease has the largest amount of application, accounting for about 70% of the total grease. Due to the use of soft, easily filterable lithium soap as a thickener, and the use of mineral oil as the base oil, it is easy to meet the requirements for reducing the vibration value of middle and low thrust ball bearings. Another advantage is that it has good pumpability, whether it is mechanical fatliquoring or hand-painting.
3. High-temperature, long-life, low-noise bearing grease Grease used in high-temperature and high-speed environments should have the following characteristics:
(1) It is not lost at high temperatures, ie it maintains a certain consistency at a temperature of around 180°C and does not soften.
(2) Less oil leakage. When the grease is subjected to high-frequency repeated shearing and a large centrifugal force in the bearing, the lubrication can be returned to the raceway in time without being thrown out.
(3) It has a certain degree of quietness. Since the high-temperature grease has a higher hardness, the noise performance in the thrust ball bearing noise test is far inferior to lithium-based grease.
(4) This type of grease must have a certain high temperature service life and have good anti-oxidation capability at high temperatures, thereby prolonging the life of NTN bearings and related equipment.
Use an oil bath lubrication system. If the oil temperature is below 60°C (140°F) and the oil is not contaminated, replace the oil once a year. If the oil temperature is between 60-100°C (140-210°F), you need to replace the lubricant four times a year. If the oil temperature is 100-120°C (210-250°F), you need to change the oil every month. If the oil temperature is above 120°C (250°F), replace the oil once a week.
Proper installation and maintenance are important factors for the normal operation of NTN bearings. At the same time, it is necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the thrust ball bearings. Bearings must be protected from contamination and moisture, and must be properly installed and lubricated. In addition, the design of the bearing arrangement, the condition of the oil seal, the form and replacement cycle of the lubricant, and the special maintenance also play an important role and must be watched.
