It can be seen from the above process that proper moisture facilitates the penetration of hot steam into the interior of the feed pellets and increases the gelatinization rate of the starch (see Table 1). The moisture content of the feed is too low to affect the gelatinization of the starch and the quality of the pellets. The powder rate of pelleted feed will increase significantly, and customer complaints will increase. The feed mill mainly increases the pellet quality by increasing the compression ratio of the slip film, but the unit energy consumption and production efficiency are significantly reduced. Maintaining proper moisture in the feed can increase the persistence of the feed pellets and reduce the chalk content (see Figure 2 and Table 2).
