Henan completed the prospecting task and newly identified 66 mineral deposits

Recently, it was learned from the Provincial Department of Land and Resources that Henan Province has fully completed the three-year prospecting task in the implementation of the mine-seeking breakthrough strategic action, and some minerals completed the five-year prospecting task ahead of schedule.

According to reports, over the past three years, based on past work, there have been 66 large-scale mineral deposits and 56 medium-sized mineral deposits in Henan Province (including new discoveries, partial identification and upgrade surveys). Resources explored: coal 22.659 billion tons, gold 313.07 tons, silver 4301.5 tons, lead and zinc 1,752,600 tons, 锑50,700 tons, molybdenum 2,665,600 tons, iron ore 1.32 billion tons, bauxite 800 million tons, vanadium 590.18 10,000 tons, refractory clay mine 110.163 million tons, trona 1.0866 billion tons, Glauber's salt 96.283 million tons, fluorite 987,700 tons, cement limestone (chemical limestone) 6.226 billion tons, dolomite 411 million tons, rock salt 163.419 billion tons.

Zhang Xingliao, chief engineer of the Provincial Department of Land and Resources, said that except for uranium mines and rare metal mines, other minerals have completed or exceeded the three-year target, gold, molybdenum, bauxite, vanadium, trona, thenardite, refractory clay. Cement limestone (chemical limestone) and rock salt have completed the five-year prospecting target.

At the end of 2010, the Ministry of Land and Resources held a symposium on comprehensively promoting the new geological prospecting mechanism in Zhengzhou, and proposed the “358” target of “significant progress in three years, major breakthrough in five years, and reshaping the pattern of geological mineral exploration and development in eight years”. Since 2011, after three years of hard work, the geological prospecting work of our province has completed the first phase of the target task, providing a strong resource support for the economic construction and social development of our province.
