Previously, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) researched self-destructive batteries to protect data from being used by others. In fact, we have not yet mastered the technology that the device actually destroys. And in order not to let information or technology fall into the hands of the bad guys, many years ago, this kind of self-destructive technology has already appeared in the movie. Now that we have moved self-destructive technology from the movies into reality, we may not have to wait too long. This time, DARPA injects funds into IBM Corp., prompting it to study a CMOS chip. When it is told that it can physically destroy itself, it will do so within 10 seconds to fully protect information and data.
For example, a drone was shot by an enemy. Under normal circumstances, in order to obtain all the secrets of drones, the enemy will carefully study the handlers carried by the drones, and even will recreate an identical processor based on the research results and use them for their own purposes. Of course, no one wants anybody else to acquire their own technology. Therefore, DARPA's VAPR (Vanishing Programmable Resources) project plans to solve the problem of acquiring technology through self-destruction of electronic devices. So, returning to the drone that was fired, DARPA hopes it will be able to send a signal to the drone and cause the processor to self-destruct. They believe that a better method is to destroy the chip by detecting the sudden change in altitude of the drone, and then burn the circuit or control the entire drone to make it explode. In this way, the enemy could not obtain any sensitive information on the drone.
After IBM obtained the funds, it needed to develop a material that could be attached to the chip. It needed to be able to receive specific radio signals. This radio signal will "inform" the chip to self-destruct, making itself crushed.
In fact, in order for the technology not to fall into the hands of the other party, the VAPR project also looks for various self-destructive technologies, including battery decomposition of the equipment. It is hoped that the technology that the devices appearing in the film will actually be self-destructive can be applied quickly in real life.
