Synthesis and Characterization of 58mm Diameter Polycrystalline Diamond Composite Sheet

A polycrystalline diamond composite sheet with a diameter of 58 mm was synthesized by using a domestic six-face press. Ultrasonic micro-imaging analysis showed that the sample had no defects such as delamination, cracks, and uneven thickness of the diamond layer. Conductivity and cutting tests showed that the experimentally synthesized 58 mm diameter composite sheet exhibited excellent wear resistance and excellent cutting speed.

Under the guidance of bionic efficient wear-resistant theory, this study uses the Mole claw toe as a biomimetic prototype to introduce its high-efficiency wear resistance after long-term evolution. The CVD polycrystalline diamond is used as the cutting unit of the cutting teeth, and the bionic high-efficiency cutting teeth are prepared by the vacuum hot pressing sintering process. The comparison test results show that the wear resistance of bionic high-efficiency cutting teeth is 23% higher than that of conventional PDC teeth, the cutting efficiency is 1.49 times higher than that of conventional PDC teeth, and 48% higher than that of biomimetic PDC teeth. It proves the feasibility of the bionic high-efficiency cutting process and method, and lays a solid foundation for the next step of high-efficiency cutting bit.
