It absorbed the US design and combustion control, system integration and optimization of free piston internal combustion engines, etc. The technology and experience have broken through the analysis and control of the combustion process of a free-piston internal combustion engine, the coupling mechanism analysis and matching design of an internal combustion engine and a linear generator, the optimization design of a double-sided flat permanent magnet linear generator and a cylindrical voice coil motor, and the efficient and stable system Key technologies such as operation control, system iterative integration, and performance testing solve the bottleneck problem of efficient and stable operation of a free-piston internal combustion linear generator, and successfully developed an efficient high-power density internal combustion linear power generation system. For the first time in China, the stable operation of a twin parallel 30kW free-piston internal combustion linear generator has been realized. The overall power generation efficiency of the system has reached 37.4%, breaking the international monopoly of technology. The project applied for 1 related PCT patent, 8 domestic invention patents and 9 utility model patents; 11 articles were published.

Compared with traditional internal combustion engines, the internal combustion linear power generation system developed in this project will increase the total power generation efficiency of the internal combustion engine power generation system by 30% and increase the mileage of electric vehicles by more than 50%. The free-piston internal-combustion linear power generation system can also reduce harmful emissions and can use a variety of fuels, which will help promote the development of China's automobile industry, create new energy-saving and emission-reducing industries, and have significant social benefits. The project results attracted the interest of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and came to discuss industrial cooperation issues. It is hoped that the relevant state departments will increase investment, continue the follow-up research and development of the project, and promote its early industrialization.
