In the second half of July, the atmosphere of the timber market in the cabinets was light, and the prices of most veneer, casket, and wood-based panel products were relatively stable. After entering the month of August, the price of wood caused widespread concern.

The People's Bank of China's 2010 second quarter monetary policy implementation report pointed out that current inflation expectations and upward price risks cannot be ignored, and will continue to implement moderately loose monetary policies to further improve the exchange rate formation mechanism. The central bank said that it is expected that China's overall economy will gradually move towards stable and sustainable growth on the basis of rapid recovery. On the 10th of this month, the General Administration of Customs released the import and export of China's foreign trade from January to July this year. According to customs statistics, in the first 7 months of this year, China’s total value of imports and exports was US$161.05 billion, an increase of 40.9% over the same period of last year. Among them, exports accounted for 850.49 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 35.6%; imports accounted for 766.56 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 47.2%; and the trade surplus was 83.933 billion U.S. dollars, a decrease of 21.2%. Furniture exports reached 18.54 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 34.9%, accelerating 1.9 percentage points. This group of data shows that in the past few months, the domestic economy has been positive and the export situation of furniture and other wood processing industries is more optimistic.

The wood industry in August remained flat, and the decline in the price of a few species such as Sapele has stopped. With the approaching of the furniture exhibition and the two major festivals, the performance of a few woodcutters and wood-based panels rebounded first.

Veneer market: solid wood veneer volume stable

Solid wood veneer: The veneer market is stable and the product price remains unchanged. According to the dealer of Xingye Wood Market, the veneer market in August was still flat and the overall sales volume was comparable to that of the previous month. Last month, veneer products such as southwest veneer, European veneer, etc., which had not been sold well, had stopped falling, but their performance did not rebound. While the veneers of the northeast, the Americas, and Africa maintained their previous levels, the best-selling products belonged to beech, Oak, gold silk grapefruit and other varieties. The sale of veneer was dull and the price of veneer remained stable. In the recent past, the veneer prices have not changed.

The edge strips cover the veneer: The market conditions are not volatile, and the product price maintains stability over the long term. In August, the performance of edge banding and veneer coating remained stable, and there was no significant fluctuation in volume and price levels. According to the dealers of Industrial Market, despite the arrival of the off-season, the supply and demand of related products such as birch, Betula alba, and Sapele are more optimistic due to the wide customer base and continuous orders. The overall performance is better than other veneers. Looking at the veneer market in recent months, the market for edge banding and covering veneer is in a stable state, and the volatility of the overall market is relatively small. It is also understood that the price of the relevant veneer is stable and no adjustment has occurred in recent months.

Bamboo skin bamboo: Balanced performance of different products, bamboo market prices continue to maintain stability. The company learned from Bamboo Gate Market that in the previous months, bamboo plates were sold well and the performance was among the highest. From August to the end of the month, the sales of bamboo plates declined slightly, making the sales of various kinds of bamboo skin bamboos roughly similar, and the market situation of bamboo products tended to be balanced. According to relevant operators, in a number of science and technology wooden doors, the sales of oak series products accounted for over 50% of the total monthly performance, and some stores even reached 80%. In addition, the price of all technology veneers has not changed and remains at the price level in the first half of the year.
