According to the British "Guardian" report, this research was jointly completed by scientists from Oxford University and Exeter University. They surveyed more than 700 women who were pregnant for the first time in Britain and asked them to provide dietary records before conception. The results showed that 56% of the pregnant women who routinely ingest calorie-rich foods before pregnancy were born to boys, while only 45% of pregnant women who took calorie-lower foods; they had breakfast cereal before pregnancy every day. Of the pregnant women, 59% later had boys, and the proportion of pregnant women who seldom eat or eat breakfast was only 43%.
The results also showed that women who eat more bananas and more foods containing potassium, calcium, and vitamin C before pregnancy are more likely to have boys. Scientists in the interpretation of new findings speculate that specific dietary habits may cause higher levels of glucose in pregnant women, which may be more conducive to the survival of sperm carrying the Y chromosome. The relevant research report of the scientist has been published in the new issue of the "Journal of the Royal Society Biology Branch".
