Sandvik Coromant officially opened the Global Application Center for Deep Hole Processing in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England. The center will develop original deep hole processing technology for customers in the power generation, aerospace and oil and gas industries, and it will also provide a platform for research testing and special parts research for research institutes, machine tool builders and universities.
Deep Hole Processing Global Application Center
“Sandvik Coromant understands market demand and develops economical machining solutions for parts production using deep hole drilling technology,†said Mike Walker, Global Business Development Manager, Deep Hole Machining. “The structure of these parts is increasingly complex, new processes require new products and solutions, and the market is in urgent need of developing these new products and solutions. To this end, Sandvik Coromant plans to broaden its business in the field of deep hole machining. Lieutenant is positioning itself as the provider of the solution."
In order to meet customer needs, Sandvik Coromant will increase R&D investment, appoint and train product experts, and develop new processes to improve the processing efficiency and quality of complex parts.
The new application center is equipped with a dedicated deep hole drilling machine for all types of bore contouring and cavity finishing; a small turning center for guide plate machining; and a measuring instrument for mounting tools and inspections Workpiece. The output data of the deep hole drilling machine can record and analyze the metal cutting process in the process, and can also replicate these data, which provides a basis for comparison of the repeated test.

Stop Valves are closed by screwing a rubber gasket down onto a seat in the middle of the valve. Pros only use small versions that act as shutoff valves for fixtures such as sinks and toilets and outdoor sillcocks. Flow is inefficient because of the circuitous route the fluid (water, in most cases) has to follow. It's important to orient the valve in the right direction with the arrow (cast into the side of the valve) aligned with flow direction. That way, water flows against the bottom of the rubber gasket. If the valve is put in backward, the flow will force the gasket away from the top of the valve.
