Recently, the team led by Liu Shengzhong, researcher of the silicon-based solar cell research group of the Department of Solar Energy Research of the Clean Energy National Laboratory of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences cooperated with Zhao Kui, associate professor of Shaanxi Normal University, in the field of two-dimensional (2D) perovskite batteries. Compared with 3D perovskite batteries, 2D organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite materials have two major advantages of adjustable photovoltaic performance and excellent environmental stability. Due to the problems of low absorption coefficient, poor charge transfer ability, and large exciton binding energy of 2D perovskite, its photovoltaic performance is poor, and its efficiency is low. The DNL1606 group was doped with Cs element in the two-dimensional (BA)2(MA)3Pb4I13 perovskite, which increased the cell efficiency by 13.7%. It is the highest efficiency reported in the two-dimensional device. The team found that the addition of Cs contributes to controlling the crystal orientation, increasing the grain size in the 2D plane, enhancing carrier mobility and charge transfer kinetics. At the same time, the stability of the 2D perovskite battery has been significantly improved. At 30% humidity, the device's efficiency remains 89% after 1400 hours. This will help promote the commercialization of perovskite solar cells.
