NASA test manned new technology on Mars: inflatable flying saucer

In science fiction or movies, UFOs are often used as vehicles for "mysterious" aliens. However, according to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plan, they are testing low-density supersonic speed reducer (LDSD) projects, including a flying saucer that is ready to fly astronauts to Mars in the near future.
Due to technical limitations, when NASA sent the Curiosity Rover to the surface of Mars in 2012, it could not complete the manned mission at the same time. The new technology LDSD has a large surface area for flying saucers that maximizes natural resistance during landing and achieves deceleration and safe landing in the most economical way.

Inspired by this, scientists have also developed a supersonic pneumatic pneumatic brake (SIAD) for spacecraft. The task of the SIAD is to enclose the body of the LDSD and then inflate it with compressed gas to reduce the speed of an aircraft at 2,600 mph or more to 1,500 mph or less. To be on the safe side, NASA also designed the largest supersonic parachute in history. After landing, the parachute falls to the bottom of the ocean.

Last year, LDSD tried its best to fly. At a distance of 54,000 meters from the surface, the SIAD began to inflate. At this time, the speed of the flying saucer dropped to 1,500 miles. Then the parachute opened and fell into the Pacific Ocean, which took 3 hours.

It is reported that NASA will test again this year. As for when this flying saucer can send humans to Mars, the calculation data given by aviation experts is in the late 2030s.
